ICBC Actively Facilitates Cooperation Between Chinese and Argentine Enterprises

Recently, the 2020 China-Argentina Online Business Matchmaking Conference was successfully held on the ICBC Business Matchmaker, a global business matchmaking platform of Industrial and Commercial Bank of China (ICBC), where nearly 100 Chinese and Argentine firms conducted one-to-one online negotiation and 80% of them reached cooperation intent.

The event was co-hosted by the Ministry of Production Development of Argentina, Argentine Investment and International Trade Agency, Chinese Embassy in Argentina and ICBC. On the ICBC Business Matchmaker platform, Chinese and Argentine enterprises conducted business talks on key areas including wine and farming, and reached cross-border cooperation agreements. ICBC sent interpreters and customer managers to provide whole-process, all-round and full-chain services for participating enterprises. During the conference, a large Argentine agricultural and husbandry enterprise, also a second-time participator of ICBC’s matchmaking activity, signed a wholesale purchase agreement with a trading company in Qingdao, beginning to tap into Asian market.

From January to August this year, Argentina’s agricultural products exported to China increased by 25.3% year on year, achieving growth against the COVID-19 pandemic. The successful event is an active move of ICBC to facilitate the new development pattern and to contribute to the building of a mutually beneficial and win-win global industrial chain cooperation system. In the past three months since the launch of ICBC Business Matchmaker platform, a total of 8 cross-border matchmaking activities have been held, attracting nearly 20,000 companies from more than 40 countries and regions, reaching strategic cooperation with many domestic and overseas government agencies and trade cooperation organizations.
