ICBC Retains the Top Spot as the World’s Most Valuable Banking Brand for Four Consecutive Years

Recently, UK magazine The Banker released the Top 500 Banking Brands in 2020, showing that ICBC tops the list with a brand value of USD80,791 million, the fourth year leading the list.

As noted in the introduction of The Banker, in 2019, ICBC took a series of effective measures to improve the brand value, so as to retain its top spot among its counterparts. First, the Bank implemented the strategy of building “No.1 Personal Bank” in an all-round way, making remarkable achievements in various personal banking businesses. Second, the Bank comprehensively upgraded the inclusive financial services to provide small and micro enterprises with comprehensive inclusive financial services. Third, the Bank further sharpened its edge in technology, and launched the ECOS ecosystem by sticking to the strategy of leading the Bank’s development with technological innovation, therefore significantly improving the service capability and customer experience. Fourth, guided by the bank-wide operational and development strategy, ICBC comprehensively deepened the meaning of the Group’s brand and fully tapped major events to spread its operational ideas, express the brand philosophy and inspire employees’ confidence, in order to bring out the brand’s values and character of keeping up with the times.

Co-launched by the UK magazine The Banker and the brand valuation consultancy Brand Finance, the Top 500 Banking Brands is released at the beginning of each year and has been carried out for 14 consecutive years.
